2015 Early Educator Workforce Summit

Evidence clearly demonstrates that high-quality pre-k programs produce significant early learning gains for children from all social and economic backgrounds as well as other long-term benefits.  When preschool programs meet high-quality standards, students demonstrate significant gains in social, emotional, literacy, language, and math skills. In addition, the benefits for children and society exceed program costs considerably.

One-hundred thirty-four (134) representatives from two and four year institutions of higher education, the Alabama State Department of Education, ASRA, the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, the Alabama Partnership for Children, the Alabama Community College System, and other supportive partners participated in the Early Educator Workforce Summit, September 2015.

Early Educator Workforce Summit 2015 participants identified key areas of focus to support the education and development of early childhood educators based on the 2014 recommendations. The summit presentation is available below.
